A side by side accident in Richfield Saturday night left one man dead after he was ejected from the vehicle.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Kerry J. Rainsdon of Delta passed away from his injuries, despite the best efforts of his friends and paramedics after the accident.

Rainsdon was not wearing a seatbelt nor helmet when he was ejected while riding on a trail West of Richfield. His head, chest and arm were pinned for a time before his friends were able to winch the vehicle off him.

He was declared dead at the scene by first responders.
