(Kane County, UT) — Officials in Kern County say a semi-truck driver hauling wood chips died yesterday afternoon after leaving the road on US-89. The truck reportedly went through rough terrain and struck an embankment near milepost 108, causing the cab to separate and hit an unattended vehicle. The sole occupant of the semi-truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The owner of the parked vehicle was nearby and unharmed. The driver’s identity has not been released.
