Football

HERRIMAN, Utah-Jack Thow completed 16 of 22 passes for 159 yards, three touchdowns and an interception as the No. 6 Snow Badgers pounded the Utah Islanders 59-7 Saturday at Zions Bank Stadium. Makel Paiva, CJ Rabb and Stephon Sellers each caught a touchdown pass in victory for the Badgers. Jaeden Wright’s 2 sacks led Snow’s defense in victory. D’Andre Randolph hauled in two receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown grab in the loss for the Islanders. The Badgers next visit Highland (Kan.) Saturday at 3:00 pm MDT in their second game of the season.

Snow College Invitational

EPHRAIM, Utah-Kade Davis, Omer Sagiv and JJ Cubillas each scored and the No. 17 Snow Badgers waxed No. 18 Western Nebraska 3-1 Saturday at the Snow College Invitational. Tomoaki Kamiya scored in defeat for the Cougars.

Volleyball

Battle of the Beach Tournament @ Fort Myers, Fla. 

FORT MYERS, Fla.-Sara Gamboa posted 11 kills and the No. 1 Florida Southwestern State Bucs swept Snow 3-0 Saturday at the Battle of the Beach Tournament at Suncoast Credit Union Arena. The Bucs prevailed over the Badgers 25-23, 25-16, 25-13. Aleah McDaniel’s six kills led the Badgers in defeat.

FORT MYERS, Fla.-Maleda Azunque netted 12 kills and the Hillsborough (Fla.) Hawks waxed Snow 3-1 Saturday at Suncoast Credit Union Arena to conclude the Badgers’ participation at the Battle of the Beach Tournament. The Hawks bested the Badgers 19-25, 25-19, 26-24, 25-20 to drop Snow to 0-4. Snow returns to action Friday at 9:30 am against Central Arizona at the Marriott Spring-Hill Suites Cheyenne Invitational at Cheyenne, Wyo.
