(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Department of Public Safety has launched an online domestic violence risk assessment dashboard. The Intimate Partner Domestic Violence Lethality Assessment Protocol was created under Senate Bill 117 in 2023. It helps law enforcement identify victims at the highest risk of being killed by an intimate partner. Lawmakers emphasized the dashboard’s importance following the deaths of two Tremonton police officers Sunday while responding to a domestic violence call. Officials say the platform is a step toward preventing future tragedies and improving responses to high-risk domestic violence situations.
