Wednesday, BYU and Utah each had representatives on the Butkus Award Watch List which is annually bestowed upon the most impactful linebacker in college football.
BYU:
Senior linebacker Jack Kelly. The former Kearns High School and Weber State standout out of Kearns, Utah posted five sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception and a defensed pass last season for the Cougars.
Junior linebacker Isaiah Glasker. The former Bingham High School star out of South Jordan, Utah netted three interceptions, 3.5 sacks, 15 tackles for a loss and a forced fumble last season for the Cougars.
Utah
Senior linebacker Landon Barton. The former Brighton High School star out of Cottonwood Heights, Utah netted two sacks, two interceptions, five tackles for a loss, four defensed passes and a forced fumble last season.
Kelly, Glasker and their BYU teammates start the season August 30 by hosting Portland State. Barton and his Utah teammates start the season August 30 by visiting UCLA.
