OREM, Utah-Wednesday, Utah Valley men’s basketball head coach Todd Phillips announced the signing of sophomore center Joul Karram, a transfer from the University of Utah.

The 6-11 Karram, a native of Nazareth, Israel, averaged 0.7 points and 1 rebound per game last season for the Runnin’ Utes, making seven appearances.

Karram previously starred for Israeli professional basketball squad Hapoel Tel Aviv of Tel Aviv, averaging 13.6 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.5 blocks during his final season playing for the squad.

He has previous professional experience in Israel, Serbia, Macedonia and Finland.
