The 7th Annual Mid-Utah Radio Sports Award Banquet

RICHFIELD, Utah-Tuesday evening, the Sevier County Fair Exhibit Hall hosted the 7th annual Mid-Utah Radio Sports Award Show.

The following seven awards were presented Tuesday:

The John Yardley Impact Award:

This year’s recipient is long-time Manti High School coach Greg Dettinger who first came to central Utah in 1995. He first started with the Templars as a baseball coach while he also coached boys soccer and football at Manti. He also served as a Spanish and DriversEd teacher at Manti High School. His son, Jake Dettinger, is the Templars’ head boys soccer coach and Jake says this is because of his dad’s example. Greg Dettinger has also been a baseball official at numerous levels. This includes serving as a Division I official for several Indiana baseball schools. Greg Dettinger is also a pioneer in televised sportscasting in central Utah and his Local10 eventually became what we know today as CentraCom, or teamhive.live. Numerous witnesses have confirmed Greg Dettinger is a dedicated community servant. He received this award on his birthday. This past May, he retired in education after 31 years. He remains active in officiating.
