SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, Utah men’s basketball head coach Alex Jensen named Victoria Sun as the newest director of basketball operations for the Runnin’ Utes.

Sun comes to the program following six seasons at IMG Academy (2019-2025) serving as the business manager for the basketball arm at the Bradenton, Fla.-based institution.

Sun first served in basketball operations in 2011 at Eastern Michigan (2011-2014) and then became the special assistant to Florida State men’s head basketball coach Leonard Hamilton (2014-2015) and served in basketball operations at CSUN (Cal State-Northridge; 2015-16).

Sun also spent two seasons as the director of operations for George Washington’s men’s basketball program from 2016-2018.

Sun has also been an award-winning sportswriter (1997-2011) and is a longstanding member of the US Basketball Writers Association.

She is a 1997 graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Pubic Communications and was on the Orange’s women’s tennis team from 1993-1995. She also served as the manager of the men’s basketball program under Jim Boeheim during her time as a collegian.
