Weber State Alum Gets A Chance To Star At U.S. Women’s Open

SHOAL CREEK, Ala.-Thursday, former Weber State standout women’s golfer Kelsey Chugg will receive the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream as she will have the chance to compete at the U.S. Women’s Open.

By virtue of a victory at the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur championship at the Champions Golf Club of Houston last November, she earned a shot at this prestigious tournament.

Chugg starred for the Wildcats from 2011-2013, producing a stroke average of 77.08. She finished in the Top 20 in 12 tournaments over the course of her two years at Weber State and earned individual medalist honors on three occasions.

In her time golfing after college, she has won the Utah State Women’s Amateur four times.

Chugg is in action at 6:19 am MDT Thursday and again at 11:59 am MDT that morning.
