Weber State’s Brayden Wilson Named Third Team STATS FCS Preseason All-American Monday

Monday, Weber State junior defensive lineman Brayden Wilson was named to the STATS FCS preseason All-American third team.

Last season for the Wildcats, Wilson, a former Farmington High School star out of Kaysville, Utah, recorded 7.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for a loss.

The 6-5 260-pound Wilson was also named to the all-Big Sky preseason team last week during the conference’s media days at Spokane, Wash.

South Dakota State senior quarterback Mark Gronowski was named as the preseason favorite for the Walter Payton Award (the FCS equivalent of the Heisman Trophy). Gronowksi has led the Jackrabbits to successive Division I FCS national championships the past two seasons.

Wilson and his Weber State teammates open the season August 31 at Washington of the Big Ten Conference.
