Officials are seeking the public’s help after a historic Half-track military vehicle was stolen in Garfield County over the weekend. The vehicle was removed from the Boulder Mountain Row Lakes area between June 21 and June 22. According to a press release “the Half-track was one of 15,414 made by the White Motor Co. for the Department of Defense between 1939 and 1943.” The vehicle is part of a historic archaeological site determined to be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Forest Service Intermountain Region Investigative Analyst, Robert Smith, at 775-420-1479, or email him at robert.smith5@usda.gov.
