SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday morning, longtime Salt Lake City sportscaster Steve Klauke passed away at the age of 69 following an auto-pedestrian accident.
Klauke, a native of Chicago and a lifelong fan of the NFL’s Bears and MLB’s White Sox in the city, was a three-time Utah Sportscaster of the Year.
He had served as the full-time radio voice of Weber State athletics since 2015 and broadcast over 400 Wildcats football and men’s basketball games.
Klauke also served as the original voice of the Salt Lake Bees (1994-2023), broadcasting over 4,000 baseball games in his baseball broadcasting career.
He also filled in on Utah Jazz and Major League Baseball broadcasts and broadcast Utah high school football and boys basketball state tournament games on KJZZ of Salt Lake City.
Klauke leaves behind his wife, Sue, and two children, Adam and Lisa.
