SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, per numerous reports, former BYU and Baylor shooting guard Caleb Lohner confirmed he is transferring to the University of Utah to play football.
Lohner was in attendance at the Utes’ spring football game April 13 at Rice-Eccles Stadium, sparking rumors he would transfer to play football at Utah.
During his collegiate basketball career, Lohner averaged 4.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game for the Cougars and Bears.
Lohner will be a tight end for the Utes while Utah hosts Baylor September 7 in the first Big 12 game in program history.
Lohner also left open the possibility of returning to the hardwood for the Runnin’ Utes in a post to his social media Monday.
Lohner also starred in basketball at Wasatch Academy of Mt. Pleasant prior to starting his college basketball career at BYU.
