3A Super Regionals
GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Krue Warren homered and the No. 1 Grantsville Cowboys routed No. 16 South Summit 13-1 to win the first game of the 3A Super Regionals Thursday. Kyle Brimhall recorded eight strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Grantsville. Hunter Bednarik drove in a run for the Wildcats in the loss. Game 2 of this super regional is Friday at 1:00 pm.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Bubba Ludlow belted a grand slam and Cameron Calvez also homered as the No. 4 Canyon View Falcons pounded No. 13 Richfield 12-1 Thursday to win the first game of the 3A Super Regionals. Zac Millett posted six strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Falcons.
NEPHI, Utah-Austin Park, Treyson Coombs and Kanyon Mattinson drove in two runs apiece and the No. 2 Juab Wasps smacked No. 15 Delta 11-1 to win the first game of the 3A Super Regionals Thursday. Bryce Bowles, Landon Buchanan and Luke Marostica drove in an additional run apiece in the win for Juab. Mattinson netted seven strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Wasps. Marcus Chase drove in a run in defeat for the Rabbits.
ROOSEVELT, Utah-Gannon Labrum recorded a grand slam and the No. 7 Union Cougars pounded No. 10 Ogden 11-1 Thursday in the first game of the 3A Super Regionals. Peyton Marx posted five strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Cougars. Will Minkevitch drove in a run for the Tigers in the loss.
MANTI, Utah-Chase Keisel drove in four runs and the No. 6 Manti Templars dismantled No. 11 Providence Hall 16-4 in the first game of the 3A Super Regionals Thursday. Bo Stevens and Kyle Bailey drove in three additional runs apiece in the win for the Templars. Reggie Frischknecht added 2 more RBI for Manti in the win and Jaden Barton also drove in a run for the Templars. Bailey netted 12 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Manti. Jordan Black drove in three runs in the loss for the Patriots.
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Kade Larsen, Hayden Abrams and Peyton Alton drove in two runs apiece and the No. 8 Emery Spartans blanked No. 9 ALA 8-0 Thursday in the first game of the 3A Super Regionals. Wade Stilson posted 10 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Spartans.
PRICE, Utah-Rydge Butler drove in two runs and the No. 3 Carbon Dinos bested No. 14 North Sanpete 8-5 in the first game of the 3A Super Regionals Thursday. Maizen Prichard posted 11 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Dinos. Andy Bailey drove in four runs and Bryson Perry added another RBI in the loss for the Hawks.
MORGAN, Utah-Samuel Gomez and Jake Richards drove in two runs apiece and the No. 12 Summit Academy Bears upset No. 5 Morgan 12-2 Thursday in the first game of the 3A Super Regionals. Cooper Derbidge recorded 7 strikeouts in 6 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bears. Beck Sheffield drove in both runs in the loss for the Trojans.
