Region 12

NEPHI, Utah-Connor Cowan and Kanyon Mattinson drove in two runs apiece and the Juab Wasps downed Emery 7-2 in Region 12 baseball play Monday. Austin Park, Jimmy Larson and Luke Marostica each drove in an additional run apiece in the win for the Wasps. Mattinson posted 11 strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Juab. Treven Gilbert drove in two runs in defeat for the Spartans.

Softball

2A South

PANGUITCH, Utah-Taylor Janes (grand slam) and Tessa Veater each homered and the Kanab Lady Cowboys lassoed Panguitch 21-4 in 2A South softball play Monday. JayCee Lathim drove in three runs and Saige Station added two more RBI in the win for the Lady Cowboys. Saige Brown and Heidi Marshall drove in an additional RBI apiece for Kanab in victory. Kadee Harland drove in two runs and Jocelyn Certonio added another RBI for the Bobcats in the loss.

Non-Region

GUNNISON, Utah-Emma Broadbent and Toshlyn Louder each drove in a pair of runs and the South Summit Wildcats bested Gunnison Valley 10-6 Monday in non-region softball play. Louder posted three strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Wildcats. Hallie Brunson and Kirstin Bartholomew drove in two runs apiece in the loss for the Bulldogs. Atley Coates and Rylee Bartholomew drove in an additional run each for Gunnison Valley.
