Two men are lucky to be alive after the car they were in rolled during a rainstorm last Wednesday. Tuaoloa Filipo, 32, of Layton was driving a 2008 Honda Accord on SR-132 at a high rate of speed approaching Pigeon Hollow Junction. As the car entered the turn, it went off the road to the left, over-corrected to the right, crossed both lanes and left the roadway. It rotated clockwise as it went down an embankment and rolled three times. Owner of the car was passenger James Matai, 33, of Ephraim. Both men were wearing seat belts but had to be extricated from the vehicle. They were transported to Sanpete Valley Hospital by ambulance, and Matai was then transported to Utah Valley Hospital with an incapacitating neck injury. According to the Highway Patrol, the vehicle sustained damage on all sides, as well as the top and bottom.
