(Salt Lake City, UT) — A Republican hopeful for Utah attorney general — Trent Christensen — is not currently licensed to practice law in the state. Christensen says he’s currently working to rectify his affiliation status in time for the election this fall. The Utah Constitution states the attorney general must be admitted to practice before the Utah Supreme Court and must be in good standing with the Utah Bar — neither of which Christensen qualifies for. The Salt Lake City Tribune reports Christensen is currently not licensed to practice law in the state and has never been admitted to the Utah Bar.
