(Salt Lake City, UT) — State lawmakers say a new arena in downtown Salt Lake City would be on the table if the National Hockey League gave the city a franchise team. Senate legislators are considering a bill to create a sports and entertainment project area. SB272, the “Capital City Reinvestment Zone Amendments,” is the second piece of legislation that could increase taxes for construction of a sports complex.
