(Washington, D.C.) — Governor Cox spoke to LGBTQ-plus issues while at a Disagree Better event at George Washington University in DC. Cox called gender-affirming care genital-mutilation when asked about the state ban. A spokesperson for the Governor told the Salt Lake Tribune that Cox was dissatisfied with his response and invited the student backstage to further discuss the topic and did so for about ten minutes. Similar sentiment about gender affirming care has been called misinformation by a federal judge.
