(Cedar City, UT) — A vehicle pursuit resulted in I-15 being closed in both directions near Cedar City. The car chase began early yesterday afternoon as the suspect fled northbound from troopers on the interstate. The car ran over spike strips and came to a stop, but the driver refused to exit the vehicle, prompting authorities to shut down both the northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate. After two hours and multiple attempts to get the suspect out of the vehicle, he was eventually taken into custody. The interstate was reopened in both directions after the suspect was arrested.
