(St. George, UT) — A winter and spring of record snow and rainfall have Utah in good shape as the new water year begins. Reservoirs and streamflows are well above average at the start of the water year that began October 1st. The state’s Division of Water Resources said the picture is dramatically different from a year ago. Only seven-percent of Utah is currently facing moderate drought while at this time last year, 95-percent of the state was parched under severe drought.
