NEPHI, Utah-Austin Park threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Jay Rowley and Ryan Robison added a 2-yard touchdown run as the Juab Wasps got back on the winning track with a 20-7 win over Union Friday to conclude non-region play.
Ethan Roundy added a pair of field goals in victory for the Wasps, who improved to 3-2 on the season.
Tanner Womack returned an interception 97 yards for a score in the loss for the Cougars.
The Juab defense limited Union to 87 yards on 47 plays (1.9 yards per snap) in the win.
Juab next hosts Richfield in the 3A South opener for both squads on Friday. In the Cougars’ region opener on Friday in 3A North play, the Ogden Tigers will visit them at Roosevelt.
SALINA, Utah-Brayden Hammond threw four touchdown passes and Rylan Frischknecht tossed for another score as the North Sevier Wolves pummeled Grand 42-12 Friday in non-region football play. Lane Berry and Austin Paris each ran for scores in the loss for the Red Devils.
MANTI, Utah-Maison Starkweather threw five touchdown passes and the Manti Templars hammered Juan Diego 44-14 in non-region football play Friday. Recipients of those scoring tosses included Hunter Stevens (2 touchdown grabs), Mac Olsen, Jaden Barton and Reggie Frischknecht. Bo Stevens added a 15-yard touchdown run for the Templars in victory.
MONROE, Utah-Tui Fonua threw two touchdown passes and the Providence Hall Patriots dismantled South Sevier 20-3 Friday in non-region football play. TJ Garrett connected on a 10-yard field goal attempt in the loss for the Rams.
KANAB, Utah-Reggie Hafen threw three touchdown passes and the Richfield Wildcats clobbered Kanab 48-14 in non-region football play Friday. Kai Thomas added two touchdown runs and a scoring reception in victory for Richfield. Griffen Bone threw touchdown passes to Maddix Baird and Drey Stubbs in the loss for the Cowboys.
BEAVER, Utah-Tavyn Hollingshead ran for three touchdowns and the Beaver Beavers pummeled Millard 38-0 Friday in non-region football play. Tate Gale and Deegan Blackner also ran for scores in victory and Santiago Amezcua made a 40-yard field goal for the Beavers.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Dallen Van Vliet threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score as the Grantsville Cowboys blanked North Sanpete 28-0 in non-region football play Friday. Lee Maile returned an interception 46 yards for a score and Keegan Kinsman added an 18-yard touchdown run for the Cowboys.
BLUFFDALE, Utah-Kyan Anderson threw four touchdown passes and the Summit Academy Bears waxed Delta 43-25 Friday in non-region football play. Kadance Lovell caught two touchdown passes and ran for another score in defeat for the Rabbits.
GUNNISON, Utah-Pearson Judy ran for three scores and the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs downed Parowan 36-19 in non-region football play Friday. Tyson Tucker threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score in the win for the Bulldogs.
COALVILLE, Utah-Jake Smith, Austin Aven and Carter McCowen each ran for touchdowns and the North Summit Braves edged Milford 21-20 Friday in non-region football play. Kielen Tsosie threw two touchdown passes and Judd Netto added a touchdown run in the loss for the Tigers.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Maddix Johnson earned the win on the mound and the Panguitch Bobcats routed Pinnacle 10-1 in 1A South baseball play Friday.
GREEN RIVER, Utah-Jake Peterson drove in two runs and Ammon Peterson added another RBI as the Wayne Badgers dismantled Green River 5-1 Friday in 1A South baseball play.
TROPIC, Utah-Kel Blood, Yates Gleave, Kade Sever and Jaxon Westwood each drove in a run and the Piute Thunderbirds outlasted Bryce Valley 6-5 in 1A South baseball play Friday. Antonio Moreno drove in two runs and Lake Andrus added another RBI in the loss for the Mustangs.

UVU Invitational
OREM, Utah-The Manti Templars prevailed over Class 5A Olympus 3-0 Friday at the UVU Invitational. The Templars bested the Titans 25-21, 25-10, 25-15 to earn the straight sets victory.

JUNCTION, Utah-The Piute Thunderbirds pounded Bryce Valley 3-0 Friday in Region 20 volleyball action. The Thunderbirds downed the Mustangs 25-21, 25-19, 25-7 in the straight sets win.
