JUNCTION, Utah-Kole Westwood drove in four runs and the Piute Thunderbirds dismantled Valley 7-1 Wednesday in 1A South baseball action. Blake Dalton netted eight strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Piute. Kel Blood and Yates Gleave also drove in a run apiece for Piute.

TROPIC, Utah-The Panguitch Bobcats edged Bryce Valley 1-0 in 1A South baseball play Wednesday.

BICKNELL, Utah-Jake Peterson homered and the Wayne Badgers blitzed Pinnacle 15-4 Wednesday in 1A South baseball play. Jake Batty drove in three more runs in the win for the Badgers. Krey Bradbury posted four strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Badgers.

Region 20

PANGUITCH, Utah-The Panguitch Bobcats waxed Valley 3-1 in Region 20 volleyball play Wednesday. The Bobcats bested the Buffalos, 25-19, 23-25, 25-14, 25-8.

Non-Region

ESCALANTE, Utah-The Escalante Moquis bested Fredonia (Ariz.) 3-0 in non-region volleyball play Wednesday. The Moquis prevailed over the Lynx 25-11, 25-11, 25-7 to earn the straight sets victory.
