Monday, the United Athletic Conference released its first preseason coaches poll of the season.
The Eastern Kentucky Colonels, formerly of the Atlantic Sun Conference, are the selection to win the conference this season with 71 points and 2 first-place votes.
Utah Tech is 7th in the preseason poll. The Trailblazers obtained 25 votes and one first-place vote.
Southern Utah is 8th in the preseason poll. The Thunderbirds received 25 votes. The full poll results are as follows:

The Trailblazers visit NCAA FCS No. 3 Montana State at Bozeman, Mont. September 2 to start the season.
SUU starts the season August 31 by visiting Arizona State of the Pac-12 at Tempe, Ariz.
