(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Cox has had it with Congress using immigration as a political football instead of dealing with what he called the human and economic crisis at the southern border. During his monthly news conference Thursday, Cox said the Biden administration “has done a terrible job of enforcing border security.” Cox said Democratic and Republican administrations have been failing for years, but the Republican governor is really steamed at Congress, calling lawmakers “imbeciles.” He said Congress has abdicated its responsibility for the past 40 years. Cox said fixing legal immigration is critical and that the nation needs more immigrants, because Utah and other states have so many job openings that can’t be filled.
