(Salt Lake City, UT) — A program to help first-time homebuyers in Utah could begin as soon as July. Governor Cox signed the 50-million dollar program into law earlier this week. It will be administered by the Utah Housing Corporation, which is the state’s housing finance agency. The program gives first-time homebuyers access to up to 20-thousand dollars for a down payment or closing costs on new construction homes under 450-thousand dollars. State officials estimate the program will help around 25-hundred families become homeowners.
