No Injuries After Small Explosion At UofU Lab

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The University of Utah is investigating the cause of a small explosion in a lab on campus. The explosion happened Saturday in the Fletcher Building, which houses the university’s Physics and Astronomy departments. The explosion was contained inside a fume hood, a ventilated enclosure often used for work with explosive chemicals. Damage done by the explosion was limited and no one was injured.
