(St. George, UT) — A flood watch is out for Washington, Iron, and Kane counties as rain falls on deep snowpack in the headwaters of the Virgin River. The alert includes Springdale and specifically covers “flows in the Subway, the Narrows, and other drainages in Zion National Park. The flood watch is in effect through Thursday afternoon. The Utah Department of Transportation said the storm could dump a lot of snow on roads in the Brian Head area while Cedar City and the I-15 corridor in Iron County could see winds up to 50 miles an hour.
