EPHRAIM, Utah-Monday, Snow softball sophomore pitcher Kaci Smith was named the Scenic West Athletic Conference pitcher of the week.

Smith, a former Fremont High School star out of Farr West, Utah, came in to a game against Glendale last Friday at Henderson, Nev., in relief and pitched seven complete innings in an 8-4 win over the Gauchos.

The Badgers went 4-1 at this tournament to commence the season.

Smith and her teammates return to action Thursday-Saturday at the Western Shootout at Yuma, Ariz. on the campus of Arizona Western College.

The Badgers will face the host Matadors, Pima CC, Central Arizona and Eastern Arizona during this tournament.
