Region 12
RICHFIELD, Utah-Gage Yardley netted 11 points and the Richfield Wildcats edged Carbon 51-49 in Region 12 boys basketball action Friday. Braxton Stevenson led the Dinos in defeat with 13 points.
Region 14
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Kayson Douglas stepped up with 30 points and 6 rebounds on 9-13 from the field and 9-9 at the foul line as the Manti Templars surged past North Sanpete 82-66 Friday in Region 14 boys basketball play. Ty Allan’s 16 points led the Hawks in the loss.
Manti improves to 14-2 and 3-0 in Region 14 play with the win. The Hawks fell to 7-9 and 1-2 in Region 14 play in the loss.
ROOSEVELT, Utah-Wayke Olsen netted 12 points and the Union Cougars overpowered Delta 54-40 in Region 15 boys basketball play Friday. Cai Henderson led the Rabbits in the loss with 13 points.
Region 16
FILLMORE, Utah-Hunter Rhodes posted 25 points and 5 assists and the Millard Eagles stonewalled North Summit 75-56 Friday in Region 16 boys basketball play. Buck Sargent’s 22 points and 10 rebounds led the Braves in the loss.
GUNNISON, Utah-The Duchesne Eagles edged Gunnison Valley 47-44 in Region 16 boys basketball play Friday.
Region 20
ESCALANTE, Utah-Bret Heaton posted 15 points and the Valley Buffaloes clobbered Escalante 67-28 in Region 20 boys basketball play Friday. Jaxen Cottam’s 9 points led the Moquis in the loss.
Non-Region
SALINA, Utah-Greyson Bennett led the way with 16 points and the North Sevier Wolves bested Piute 71-61 Friday in non-region boys basketball play. Brooks Dalton led the Thunderbirds in the loss with 17 points.
Girls Basketball
Region 19
KANAB, Utah-Danzee Bradshaw had 22 points and the Beaver Beavers handed Kanab their first loss of the season with a 55-52 win Friday in Region 19 girls basketball play. Anna Cutler and Savannah Bateman had 13 points apiece for the Lady Cowboys in defeat.
BLANDING, Utah-Kinley Jenson led the way with 17 points and the South Sevier Rams decimated San Juan 76-30 in Region 19 girls basketball play Friday. Serina Yanito led the Broncos with 11 points in the loss.
Region 20
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Ruth Cox posted 19 points and the Valley Buffaloes pounded Water Canyon 56-25 Friday in Region 20 girls basketball play. Martha Jessop’s 9 points led the Wildcats in defeat.
