CEDAR CITY, Utah-Thursday, SUU football head coach DeLane Fitzgerald added three new assistants to the Thunderbirds’ staff.

They are Tye Hiatt, the program’s new offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, Ryan Payne, the new offensive line coach and Brandon Perkins, the  new cornerbacks coach.

Hiatt comes to Cedar City from NCAA Division II Eastern New Mexico of Portales, N.M. where he served as the Greyhounds’ head coach for the past two seasons. He went 7-15 at the helm of the program.

Payne comes to the Thunderbirds’ program from Idaho State where he served as the Bengals’ offensive line coach last season.

Perkins joins Fitzgerald’s staff from NCAA Division II Adams State of Alamosa, Colo. He was the Grizzlies’ defensive backs coach and defensive passing game coordinator.
