3A State Championship @ Utah Tech University

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Nick Despain completed 19 of 25 passes for 371 yards, 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions as the No. 2 Morgan Trojans clobbered No. 1 Juab 55-3 Friday to win the 3A state championship at Greater Zion Stadium on the campus of Utah Tech University. The Trojans amassed 547 yards of offense and limited Juab to 118 net yards. Ryker Richards connected on a 52-yard field goal for Juab in the loss.

The Trojans have now won eight state championship in football in school history. Morgan has won football state titles in 1940, 1977, 1979, 1983, 1993, 1997, 2019 and 2022.

2A State Championship @ Utah Tech University

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Parker Snyder accounted for five total touchdowns and the No. 2 San Juan Broncos downed the No. 4 Beaver Beavers 41-21 to win the 2A state championship at Greater Zion Stadium Friday on the campus of Utah Tech University. Tate Gale recorded three touchdowns in the loss for the Beavers.

This is San Juan’s 8th all-time state championship in football. The Broncos have state titles in 1989, 1998, 2000, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2021.

1A State Championship @ Utah Tech University

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Jessaia Giatras ran for 178 yards and a pair of scores on 20 carries and the No. 1 Layton Christian Eagles downed No. 3 Kanab 55-19 in the 1A state championship game Friday at Greater Zion Stadium on the campus of Utah Tech University.

Malik Johnson hauled in two receptions for 63 yards and a pair of scores in victory for the Eagles, who won their first state championship in football in program history.

Derek Brown (5 rec, 69 yards, 2 TD’s) led the Cowboys in the loss.
