3A Quarterfinals
NEPHI, Utah-Alex Jackson completed 13 of 20 passes for 194 yards and four scores and the No. 1 Juab Wasps pulverized No. 8 Manti 52-15 in the 3A state quarterfinals Friday at Juab High School.
Wes Nielsen (5 rec, 51 yards, 2 TD’s) was Jackson’s key target as the Wasps built a 49-7 lead at the half en route to the easy victory against the Templars.
Juab improves to 11-0 on the season as Manti’s season ends at 5-7.
Hunter Stevens (6 rec, 135 yards, TD) was the Templars’ star performer on the evening.
This game concludes the head coaching career of Manti head coach Cole Meacham who went 154-100 (.606) in 23 seasons at the helm of the Templars’ program.
Juab next plays November 5 at 10:00 am in the 3A state quarterfinals against No. 4 Canyon View at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Jaxon Jensen threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Asher Groft and the No. 4 Canyon View Falcons doubled up No. 5 Richfield 14-7 Friday in the 3A state quarterfinals. Reggie Hafen threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Cort Moon in defeat for the Wildcats.
MORGAN, Utah-Gunnar Lish ran for three scores and the No. 2 Morgan Trojans routed No. 7 Juan Diego 51-20 Friday in the 3A state quarterfinals. Hayden Mezenen threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score in defeat for the Soaring Eagle. Morgan next faces No. 3 Grantsville November 5 in the state semifinals at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.
GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Hunter Bell threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another score as the No. 3 Grantsville Cowboys downed No. 6 North Sanpete 28-9 in the 3A state quarterfinals Friday. Tyler Allan threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Keegan Strickland in the loss for the Hawks.
2A Quarterfinals
KAMAS, Utah-Bracken Lassche threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the No. 1 South Summit Wildcats outlasted No. 8 Delta 30-26 Friday in the 2A state quarterfinals. Cam Skeem threw three touchdown passes to Cameron Smith in defeat for the Rabbits. South Summit next plays in the state semifinals Friday at 4:00 pm against No. 4 Beaver at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.
BEAVER, Utah-Tyten Fails threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Bodie Wheatley in the closing seconds and the No. 4 Beaver Beavers outlasted No. 5 Summit Academy 27-24 in the 2A state quarterfinals Friday. Wheatley added a 15-yard touchdown run in the heart-pounding victory for the Beavers.
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Wade Stilson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the No. 3 Emery Spartans waxed No. 6 Providence Hall 36-31 Friday in the 2A state quarterfinals. Robin Limutau had a pair of scoring runs in the loss for the Patriots. The Spartans next face No. 2 San Juan Friday at 7:00 pm in the 2A state semifinals at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.
BLANDING, Utah-Zach Conway ran for three scores and returned a kickoff 80 yards for another touchdown as the No. 2 San Juan Broncos decimated No. 10 South Sevier 54-7 in the 2A state quarterfinals Friday. Brock Bair ran 40 yards for a touchdown in defeat for the Rams.
1A Quarterfinals
MILFORD, Utah-Kilo Tsosie threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score and the No. 4 Milford Tigers blasted No. 5 North Sevier 59-34 Friday in the 1A state quarterfinals. Kannin Boswell threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score in defeat for the Wolves. Milford next faces No. 1 Layton Christian Friday at 10:00 am in the 1A state semifinals at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.
LAYTON, Utah-Malik Johnson had two touchdown runs and caught a scoring pass and the No. 1 Layton Christian Eagles clobbered No. 8 Parowan 57-0 in the 1A state quarterfinals Friday.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Kyron Bracken and Aiden Dougherty each ran for two scores and the No.2 Enterprise Wolves routed No. 7 North Summit 35-7 Friday in the 1A state quarterfinals. Brenden Smith had a 20-yard touchdown run in defeat for the Braves. Enterprise next faces No. 3 Kanab Friday at 1:00 pm in the 1A state semifinals at Eccles Coliseum at Southern Utah University.
KANAB, Utah-Griffen Bone threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score and the No. 3 Kanab Cowboys outlasted No. 6 Duchesne 27-26 in the 1A state quarterfinals Friday. Parker Crum’s three touchdown passes led the Eagles in defeat.
Eight-Player
MONTICELLO, Utah-JD McDonald threw two touchdown passes and the No. 3 Monticello Buckaroos pounded No. 6 Altamont 56-14 Friday in the eight-player quarterfinals. The Buckaroos next face No. 2 Rich Thursday at 12:00 pm at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.
RANDOLPH, Utah-Jett Holmes ran for two scores and recorded a pick six as the No. 2 Rich Rebels dismantled No. 7 Monument Valley 48-12 in the eight-player quarterfinals Friday.
HILDALE, Utah-The No. 4 Water Canyon Wildcats pounded No. 5 Whitehorse 62-16 Friday in the eight-player quarterfinals Friday. The Wildcats next face No. 1 Gunnison Valley Thursday at 9:00 am in the state semifinals at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.
