PAYSON, Utah-Kade Edwards (22 of 35, 239 yards, 2 TD’s/INT) and Dylan Wall (7 rec, 90 yards, 2 TD’s) connected on a pair of scores and Lincoln Ewell sacked Reggie Hafen on 4th down to end the game as the Payson Lions outlasted Richfield 28-22 Friday in non-region football play.

A lightning delay caused the kickoff to be 38 minutes past its scheduled time and Richfield started slow as well, falling behind 21-0 before rallying to give themselves a chance.

Hafen (18-35, 236 yards, 2 TD’s/INT) and Kai Thomas (3 rec, 78 yards, 2 TD’s) also connected on a pair of scores in defeat for the Wildcats.

Richfield and Payson are presently each 2-1 on the season.

The Wildcats return to action Friday at Ogden in non-region play.

RANDOLPH, Utah-Bryson Sorensen ran for four touchdowns and added a 17-yard scoring reception from Tyson Tucker as the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs outlasted Rich 33-27 in overtime Friday in the first 8-man football game in school history for Gunnison Valley.

REXBURG, Idaho-The Minico (Idaho) Spartans downed Beaver 24-14 at the Rocky Mountain Rumble Friday at Madison High School. Ayden Bradshaw had touchdown runs of 13 and 5 yards in defeat for the Beavers, who fell to 0-3 on the season.

NEPHI, Utah-Alex Jackson threw five touchdown passes and the Juab Wasps torched Class 5A Mountain View 49-21 Friday in non-region football play. Ryan Robison (66 yards) and Wesley Nielsen (3 yards) each ran for a score in the rout for the Wasps.

KANAB, Utah-Griffen Bone threw a pair of scoring passes to Kason Janes (82 and 50 yards) and the Kanab Cowboys pulverized ALA 60-0 in non-region football play Friday. Parker Franklin and Hayden Gubler each ran for a pair of scores in the rout for the Cowboys. Preston Browning, Drey Stubbs and Anthony Barca also had touchdown runs in victory for Kanab.

MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Tyler Allan threw four touchdown passes and the North Sanpete Hawks pounded Delta 42-13 Friday in non-region play. PJ Cook added a 1-yard touchdown run and Keegan Strickland returned an interception 34 yards for another score in victory for North Sanpete. Cam Skeem threw two touchdown passes to Cameron Smith in defeat for the Rabbits.

FILLMORE, Utah-Kyron Bracken had four touchdown runs, including the game-winner in overtime from 2 yards out as the Enterprise Wolves outlasted Millard 27-21 in non-region football play Friday. Brooks Christensen ran for two touchdowns and Kaden Turner threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Luke DeGraffenried in the loss for the Eagles.

MANTI, Utah-Hunter Bell threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Grantsville Cowboys smoked Manti 37-14 Friday in non-region football play. Larson Pogroszewski caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Kayson Douglas and ran 32 yards for another score in the loss for the Templars.

MILFORD, Utah-Kilo Tsosie threw three touchdown passes and the Milford Tigers decimated North Sevier 47-14 in non-region football play Friday. Bo Hardy scored three touchdowns and ran for over 250 yards in victory for Milford. Kannin Boswell ran for over 200 yards and two touchdowns in defeat for the Wolves.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Cole Harland threw a complete game shutout with 15 strikeouts as the Panguitch Bobcats beat Valley 5-0 Friday in 1A South Region baseball action. Harland also doubled and drove in two runs in the win for Panguitch. Bodee Cox and Macoy Harris each hit doubles in the loss for Valley.

GREEN RIVER, Utah-Trey Clark went 3-5 with a double, triple and three RBI’s as the Bryce Valley Mustangs shutout Green River 10-0 Friday in 1A South Region baseball action. Antonio Moreno earned the win on the mound with eight strikeouts in five innings for the Mustangs. Three Bryce Valley pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter in the win.

JUNCTION, Utah-Kel Blood and Jaxon Westwood combined to throw a no-hitter as the Piute Thunderbirds shutout Pinnacle 11-0 Friday in 1A South Region baseball action. Blood earned the win with nine strikeouts in four innings of work. Daxon Morrill and Brooks Dalton each drove in two runs in the victory for the Thunderbirds.
