PROVO, Utah-Monday, BYU junior left tackle Blake Freeland was named as a 2022 Preseason All-American by The Athletic.

The 6’8″ 305-pound Freeland started all 13 games for the Cougars in 2021 at left tackle and was named to the All-Independent First Team by Phil Steele and the Pro Football Network.

Freeland and his teammate, junior offensive lineman Clark Barrington, were each named to the 2022 preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi awards.

The Cougars commence the season September 3 by visiting South Florida.
