SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, Utah football made history by achieving a No. 8 ranking in the USA Today coaches poll.

This is the highest ranking ever obtained by Utah football in a preseason poll.

Their previous highest ranking was No. 15 in the 2019 USA Today coaches poll ahead of the 2019 season.

Alabama is ranked No. 1 presently with Ohio State at No. 2, Georgia at No. 3, Clemson at No. 4 and Notre Dame at No. 5.

Oregon is presently No. 12 and USC at No. 15 as the two Pac-12 schools to join the Utes in the polls.

The Associated Press Top 25 will be released August 15. The AP poll will serve as the official poll before The College Football Playoff rankings are released later this season.
