(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Cox is urging President Biden to reconsider proposed new rules that would include sexual orientation and gender identity as considerations under Title Nine. The Utah Republican sent a letter to Biden yesterday asking him to keep from enacting new regulations on programs such as school meals, health care and education. The governor said such policies need to be left to the states, calling implementation “the height of federal arrogance.” He also said the new rules would create greater divisions between conservatives and liberals that will make any sort of compromise more difficult.
