(Salt Lake City, UT) — A surge in home building in Utah has helped ease the state’s housing shortage. A new report from the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute shows Utah is still 31-thousand units short of meeting all needs. That number is down from 56-thousand units in 2017. Last year, the state issued 40-thousand building permits for residential buildings.
