OGDEN, Utah-Late Wednesday, Weber State men’s basketball head coach Eric Duff added an assistant to his coaching staff.
Duff hired Dan Russell who spent the last three season with the Wildcats’ Big Sky Conference rival, Montana State.
Prior to his time with the Bobcats, Russell spent the previous 11 seasons with the Casper College (Wyo.) Thunderbirds, including his last six seasons there as the head coach.
He led the T-Birds to a record of 145-52 (.736) and to six consecutive region tournaments and two regional championship games.
He played two seasons at Casper College and earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Wyoming.
While at Laramie, he worked under then-Cowboys head coach Heath Schroyer, serving as the program’s graduate assistant.
Russell joins fellow Wildcats assistants Eric Daniels and Jorge Ruiz.
