(Washington, DC) — Senator Mike Lee volunteered to talk with the January 6th committee regarding text exchanges he had with former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. Recently released text messages show Lee telling Meadows that legislatures in contested states would have to put forward alternative slates of Electoral College delegates to potentially declare former President Donald Trump the winner of the 2020 election. While on Fox News Sunday, Lee said he was only looking into rumors that states would reallocate their electoral votes on their own. Lee also said he would not have an issue speaking with January 6th investigators and committee members.
