An arraignment hearing was held on Monday, May 2, for Brent Neil Brown, the man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a Snow College student in December 2021 at his parent’s home in Loa. Brown met the girl online and picked her up near her residence hall in Ephraim. He then held her captive for a week at the home before she was found by law enforcement. Through his attorney, Brown pleaded not guilty to all charges connected to the kidnapping and assault, as well as an obstruction of justice charge. Judge Marvin Bagley set a pretrial conference for June 3 at 1:30 p.m. Brown is being held at the Sevier County Jail as court proceedings go forward.
