(Spanish Fork, UT) — Utah’s lieutenant governor says the state is in a “world of hurt” because of a lack of water in state reservoirs. Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson urged Utahns to conserve water yesterday, noting that Utah’s reservoirs are at about 58-percent of capacity heading into the summer. She also said it’s likely that some reservoirs will run out of water before the end of the year. She asked Utahns to restrict lawn watering and take advantage of state programs that pay homeowners to convert their turf to more water-friendly landscaping.
