(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah teachers are going to find a little something extra in their paychecks before the end of the school year. The Utah Board of Education has fast-tracked ten-million dollars in bonuses for public school employees approved earlier this year by the state legislature. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Sydnee Dickson says the teachers and staff will receive at least 100-dollars, with some receiving more for picking up extra work due to staff shortages during the pandemic. A spokesman for the Utah Teachers Association says the money is a welcome sign of gratitude to a workforce that is tired and stressed from the demands of the last two years.
