EL PASO, Texas-Tuesday evening, Southern Utah men’s basketball travels to the Don Haskins Center at El Paso, Texas to face UTEP in the second round of The Basketball Classic.

The Thunderbirds bested Kent State 83-79 March 16 while the Miners downed Western Illinois 80-54 last Saturday at the Don Haskins Center.

The T-Birds enter this game at 21-11 (14-6 in Big Sky play) and have had consecutive seasons of winning 20 + games for the first time in school history.

UTEP enters this game at 20-13 (11-7 in Conference USA play).

The winner of this game advances to The Basketball Classic semifinals which are slated for March 29.

The Miners lead the T-Birds 3-0 all-time with the squads previously meeting in 1992, 1993 and 1997.
