(Springdale, UT) — Zion National Park has topped five-million visitors for the first time. Park officials announced yesterday that the park set a new record for attendance last year. Visitation at Zion has nearly doubled over the last decade and officials say the increase is straining park resources and putting stress on plants, animals, staff and infrastructure. The park has instituted a reservation system for Angels Landing to better manage visitation at one of its most popular destinations.
