(Salt Lake City, UT) — Lawmakers in the Utah House will consider a bill that would expand ranked-choice voting in elections this afternoon. HB178 from Republican Representative Mike Winder would require ranked-choice voting to be used in any multi-candidate race, whether they are primaries or general elections. The proposal also outlines requirements to how ballots are structured and how they are counted. More than 20 Utah cities use the system, including Salt Lake City, Sandy and Moab.
