Men’s Basketball

EPHRAIM, Utah-Ben Tew netted 18 points and 6 rebounds on 8-10 from the field as the No. 19 Snow Badgers clobbered Colorado Northwestern 111-63 in Scenic West men’s basketball play at the Horne Activity Center Thursday. The Badgers shot 61 percent (46-76) from the field on a highly successful Sophomore Night.

Tew was among the Badgers’ sophomores honored. Others included Drake Allen, Hagen Wright, Wyatt Lowell, Rich Stucki and Brayden Roberts.

Jaden Landes had 16 points on 4-7 behind the arc in defeat for the Spartans.

The Badgers improved to 17-5 and 8-4 in Scenic West play with the win. Colorado Northwestern stumbles to 5-14 ad 3-10 in Scenic West play with the loss.

The Badgers return to action Saturday at Twin Falls, Idaho against No. 9 Southern Idaho. This game is not a broadcast on the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network.

Women’s Basketball

EPHRAIM, Utah-Sarah Lange posted 16 points and 8 rebounds on 6-8 from the field and 4-4 at the foul line as the Snow Badgers enjoyed a successful Sophomore Night by routing Colorado Northwestern 84-39 Thursday in Scenic West women’s basketball action at the Horne Activity Center.

The Badgers shot 9-9 at the foul line in improving to 14-10 and 8-4 in Scenic West play on the season.

Lange was among seven sophomores honored by the Badgers. Others include former Richfield High School multi-sport star athlete Passion Reitz, Jenna Czarnecki, Dani Ross, Ashlee Edwards, Kennedy Eskelson and Samiana Suguturaga.

Erin Mauro’s 16 points and 7 rebounds led the Spartans in the loss.
