DALLAS-Tuesday, Utah’s three FBS football coaches have been named among 13 national semifinalists for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award.
They include BYU head coach Kalani Sitake, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham and Utah State head coach Blake Anderson
This award is annually presented by the Football Writers Association of America in conjunction with the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Sitake was also named a finalist for this award last season when the Cougars went 11-1. This season, BYU is 10-2 and has accepted a berth to the Independence Bowl of Shreveport, La. against Alabama-Birmingham December 18.
In his sixth season at BYU, Sitake has posted a record of 48-28 (.632).
Whittingham led the Utes to a 10-3 record on the season and the program’s initial Pac-12 title. The Utes will play Big Ten representative Ohio State in the Rose Bowl January 1 at Pasadena, Calif.
Whittingham has netted a record of 144-69 (.676) in 18 seasons at the helm of the Utes’ program.
Anderson, in his first season at Utah State, went 10-3 (.769). He is the first FBS first-year coach to win 10 games.

Billy Napier-Louisiana (12-1; Sun Belt Championship) Napier has since been hired at the University of Florida as the head football coach. His replacement is Michael Desormeaux.
Pat Narduzzi-Pittsburgh (11-2; Atlantic Coast Conference Championship)
Nick Saban-Alabama (12-1; Southeastern Conference Championship; College Football Playoff appearance)
Kirby Smart-Georgia (12-1; College Football Playoff appearance)
Jeff Traylor-Texas-San Antonio (12-1; Conference USA Championship)
Mel Tucker-Michigan State (10-2)
