SAN FRANCISCO-Monday, University of Utah freshman guard Lazar Stefanovic was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week per an announcement from the league office.

This is the first such honor for a Ute since center Branden Carlson earned this recognition in February 2020.

The native of Belgrade, Serbia posted 7.5 points and 4 rebounds per game against USC and California last week.

Stefanovic is averaging 7.6 points per game this season for the 6-2 (1-1 in Pac-12 play) Utes.

Utah returns to action Wednesday by visiting Texas Christian at Fort Worth, Texas.
