New Study: Sexism Is “Normalized,” “Prevalent” In Utah

(Salt Lake City, UT) — New research says sexism is considered normal in Utah. Researchers with Utah State University say their recent study found that sexist comments are widespread in the state. According to the 2020 study, the sexist remarks are more likely to occur in workplaces, within the home, churches or communities. Additionally, nearly 85-percent of the sexist comments were delivered by men and almost 14-percent were expressed by women. The study also found that most often, the remarks were made by someone with authority or influence over the woman.
